ising from its New England hillside, Rose Ridge is clearly a comfortably restored antique and a handsome example of our area’s cultural heritage. With its three-story stature, traditional siding and beautifully shuttered double-hung windows, it may not be immediately apparent that this elegant home was originally a barn. Once inside however, the original post and beam structure is exposed and rare wide chestnut floor planks are distinctly reminiscent of the sound and sturdy structures that were once so vital to our forebears. Every surface has been hewn and shaped, if not by a hand, by the wear of time, and the rustic romantic appeal of a converted barn is fully realized.
